Move to These Cities in the USA!

Canada is famous for having some of the warmest, friendliest people in the world, which is ironic because of how incredibly cold the climate is here. That’s why we aren’t surprised when some of us pack up and move our things down south.

Retirees, young professionals, and couples of all ages often make the move to the USA for work, but there are plenty of people who make the jump across the border and head to southern shores of neighbour just to escape the Canadian winter. If you’re thinking of moving from Canada to the USA, here are some of the most popular warm destinations (especially for retirees):

Phoenix, AZ

Arizona, especially its capital and largest city, Phoenix, has been a major retirement destination for years. Abundant sunshine, warm weather, and golf courses galore are just a few of the reasons that people call this desert metropolis home. The price really can’t be beat, especially for real estate. Within the metro area itself are dozens of communities for all tastes, including artist enclaves, retirement communities, and groups of outdoors enthusiasts. What else would you expect from the home of the Grand Canyon?

Key West, FL

The Florida Keys are a group of enchanting islands nestled on the edge of the Southern tip of Florida. At the very far end of the keys sits Key West. One part tourist heaven and one part natural wonder, this key has everything you could ask for: great weather, tons of nightlife, world-famous cuisine, and stunning natural beauty. The prices aren’t as friendly as the locals, though.

Las Vegas, NV

Las Vegas—Sin City. Home to some of the world’s most famous (notorious?) casinos, nightclubs, and entertainment venues, this desert oasis is actually a thriving city home to two million people! Aside from the gambling and entertainment, this city makes a great place to call home. The prices are highly affordable and there’s no shortage of things to keep you occupied regardless of age. And it will cost a fraction of what it’d cost in Canada. Golf courses, five-star restaurants, parks, thrilling attractions, and no state income tax? We’re in!

Houston, TX

There’s just something special about Houston. It’s a cosmopolitan metropolis in the heart of conservative Dixie, but the thriving economy, fusion of Mexican, Texan, and American culture, and the big-hearted local population drive people from around the world to seek their fortune here (and not just for oil). Even with the major job market and opportunities, Houston is still much more affordable than other cities of its size. And did we mention the weather? The COLDEST month of the year averages about 12 degrees Celsius!

Thinking of moving from Canada to the USA to escape the winter? That’s our specialty! Moving across the border comes with a number of challenges, but it doesn’t have to be stressful. Just choose the right international moving company, and you are all set.
